Registering your details is very easy! Take the bluon.me wristband out of its box, open a browser on any computer or phone and go to the web address printed on the band. Please note: type the address straight into your browser's address bar, not into a search engine (like Google)! You'll be asked for a few details — they're saved in a couple of minutes and the band is ready to use. If your phone supports NFC, hold it against the band with the screen on and unlocked: it's quicker still. You can change your details at any time at bluon.me/me.
Not at all! bluon.me is a web platform — there is nothing to install, either for you or for the person who finds your child. That's exactly why bluon.me works with virtually any device connected to the Internet: in a few seconds both sides have the information they need.
Yes. Recent iPhones (from the XS onwards) read NFC tags without any app: unlock the iPhone, hold it against the chip in the wristband and tap the notification that appears on screen. On older models — and any time nothing happens — bluon.me still works: open the browser and type the web address printed on the band. The result is exactly the same.
Safeguard™ starts automatically as soon as someone reads your child's bluon.me band. You get an instant alert that takes you to a web page with the last recorded position on an interactive map — in 3D or classic 2D — along with local weather and temperature and directions through Google Maps, so you can get there as quickly as possible. Whoever found your child sees only the information you have chosen to share.
Everything from the browser, with nothing to install. When they read the band, buttons appear on screen: they can call, send a text or write on WhatsApp to any of the numbers you have pre-registered in your circle of trusted contacts — family, friends, acquaintances — or open the automatic chat, where they find the useful information you've chosen to share and speak to you directly. And simply because the band has been read, you and your circle have already received the instant alert with the location.
You decide what is visible. You can hide your child's photo and name, and the phone numbers of the people in your circle too: whoever reads the band sees only what you have chosen to share, nothing more. No personal details are printed on the band itself. You can also deactivate a device temporarily and switch it back on whenever you like, without losing anything. It's all managed from your area at bluon.me/me.
No — and that's deliberate. The position is recorded at the moment someone finds your child and holds their phone against the band, or opens the web address printed on it: you then receive an alert on every registered device and can check the position on the interactive map. Permanent tracking would require GPS, a battery and a SIM card — with costs, weight, recharging and a far more fragile product. bluon.me deliberately keeps it simple: barely two grams, no recharging, no maintenance, 100% waterproof — and no subscription fee for the Safeguard service.
These are the push notifications bluon.me sends to the devices you register for it — phone, tablet or computer, with no app at all. In your area at bluon.me/me, register the devices where you want to be reached and switch notifications on: as soon as the band is read, the alert with the location appears straight away, with sound or vibration, and the same alert goes out to you by e-mail at the same time. Two channels at once, so it's hard to miss.
No. There's no registration fee and no subscription to use bluon.me: the Safeguard service that helps you find your child is included in the price of the wristband — for good, with no running costs. You pay for the band, nothing else. The full details are in our terms.
Very simple: request a secure access e-mail at bluon.me/me. You'll get a link that takes you straight to your personal area, where you can update your details whenever you like and choose which information is shown when the band is read. You can also add other people as guests or administrators through an invitation link, turning family and friends into a real safety net.
